If you’ve been feeling especially spacey, exhausted, or strung-out lately, it’s not just you.

And you’re not imagining things.

The Virgo Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) is building, going exact this coming Tuesday night at 10:38pm Australian Eastern Time, and Mercury has just stationed retrograde through Pisces.

There is a part of you that lives underneath your habitual conditioning. A part of you that exists beyond + beneath consensus reality, under the colonised mind. This is the part of you that Empire cannot touch. It’s the part of you that remembers you’re a human — which is to say, an animal — someone who is of the earth, from the earth, and with the earth.

This part of you already feels the waxing of the moon. It responds to the turning of the seasons. It feels the subtle shifts that rhyme with the dancing of the planets in the same way that the ocean feels the moon, and birds feel the ever-changing cycles of the weather.

This part of you is already living in perfect alignment with the cycles of Nature — including those of the wider cosmos. It’s already noticing and responding to the shifts we’re all moving through right now.

Sometimes, it takes the mind a little bit to catch up.

It certainly does for me.

This part of me — and this part of you, too — is swimming in the watery depths of massively amplified Pisces energy right now, building to a deep surrender + release with the Virgo Full Moon.

We’re wrapping up a particularly tumultuous eclipse season with this Full Moon (the star of the show of course being the fateful conjunction of Neptune and Saturn at the Zero Point — if you’ve been seeing a bunch of chat about this conjunction and you have no fkn idea what it means, but you’d like to, book a reading here so that we can dive into it together and explore what it means for you, specifically).

This particular eclipse is happening right up next to the South Node of the moon — the point in the sky most associated with release, surrender, shedding, and “outgrowing” — meaning whatever it is that’s trying to leave your life right now, whether it be a relationship, a home, a sense of Self, or any kind of fundamental belief about who and why you are, let it.

Eclipse seasons come as catalysts.

This one is the catalyst for some kind of ending.

swinging along on the Virgo x Pisces axis…

Full Moons are an exact opposition of the moon and the sun.

Which is to say, they’re a time when consciousness (Sol) is fully illuminating the unconscious (Luna).

There’s nowhere to hide under a full moon.

Lunar eclipses are ever so slightly different. They are an obscuring of this illumination, an invitation into mystery, void, and the Unknown. Instead of illuminating our shadows, a lunar eclipse invites us to dance with them.

Every full moon highlights a zodiac axis. Two signs, sitting exactly opposite each other, often with complementary themes and some kind of “opposition” to integrate and bring into Oneness.

Right now, we’re experiencing the peak of the Pisces x Virgo axis. The bridge between the spirit (Pisces), and the body (Virgo). Between the mystical, and the mundane. Between dreams and imagination, and habit, routine, “reality”.

Pisces is a deeply intuitive sign. We’re experiencing a huge Piscean activation right now (more on this in a bit), and it can leave us feeling a bit swirly. Things feel a bit more fluid than they usually might, and fantasy and delusion are rubbing right up against consensus reality at the moment.

With the extreme tension of the world stage, ramping up overt fascism, Israel and the US attacking Iran as Mars squares Uranus, and just the general vibe of extreme calamity and what-the-fucking-fuck-ness happening for us collectively at the moment, it can be tricky to discern properly what our intuition is trying to tell us.

It can feel like there’s too much noise to properly listen to it. Like our nervous systems are so fried we can’t find the stillness to tune in.

Friend, this feeling of heightened agitation is not a “mistake”.

You are not wrong to be feeling this way.

You are not feeling this way because you somehow “dropped the ball”.

Your nervous system is responding exactly as it should to an ongoing and exponentially increasing lack of safety, stability, and cohesion.

With Saturn (boundaries and structure) having just moved into Aries (the Self, the Warrior, the I AM), and Uranus (radical change through chaos and tumult) coming towards the anaretic degree of Taurus (the Primal Body), this full moon is highlighting a deep rumbling of instability that all of us are feeling right now.

A Virgo full moon is enormously supportive here.

Virgo is our connection to our physical bodies. Virgo is the gardener, devotionally toiling away in the fertile soil of our flesh and sinew, and in the nooks and crannies of our minds. Virgo is routine and stability, not out of a colonial sense of “discipline” or “should”, but from a place of deep reverence for our own very vulnerable mortality.

The poetry of this eclipse (full moon) is that in order for us to be able to hear and then act on the intuition and the dreams we’re swimming in right now, our physical vessels need to be receptive to them. Tending the garden of the body and the mind under a Virgo full moon is never indulgence. It’s never a “bonus”. It’s step zero to connecting with the Piscean intuition and visioning capacity we desperately need if we’re going to be showing up consistently.

Because this eclipse is happening next to the South Node, there’s a loud chorus of shedding and releasing happening here.

But, eclipses are portals. They are conduits for the divine, catalysts for rapid change. They are not really for “setting intentions”. They are for bearing witness.

Basically, this specific release and surrender isn’t going to be happening because you’re asking it to. It’s not about your desires, your intentions, your conscious decisions about where you’re wanting to go. Honestly, it isn’t really about you, at all. It’s going to be happening because it’s what was always going to happen, and the patterns are finally illuminated to the degree that you’re able to see it.

Right now, your body is shedding and out-growing what was keeping you shut out from your own intuition. That which has been positioning itself between you, and intimacy with your own creativity, is dissolving.

keep reading for a breakdown of the larger context of this eclipse (nothing ever happens in isolation! the poetry of the sky is an orchestra, not a single melody!), and some prompts on how to support yourself and your people as we move out of eclipse season together…
