This particular lunation is generally one of boisterousness and adventure.

It’s nature is one of expanding horizons, looking beyond the details, and basking the bounty of things.

And while I really believe that there’s no such thing as being out of sync with the movements of the cosmic orchestra, this full moon feels particularly jarring in the context of the week we’ve all had.

On Monday, the Madleen — the boat attempting to carry aid into Gaza, boarded by 12 unarmed activists (including Greta Thunberg) was intercepted by Israeli forces — in full view of the entire world, and everyone on board was taken.

This past weekend (and still more into this week) has seen the military dispatched against the citizens of Los Angeles who were peacefully protesting ICE raids.

California is now under military occupation.

These are just two of the more well-publicised instances of overt collapse we’ve seen this week. Many more are happening underneath the view of a constantly churning news cycle.

The veneer is falling away. Fascism is showing its face.

This moon asks us to look these atrocities front on, to face them fully, and to recognise that they are all interconnected.

This moon reminds us to gaze towards the proverbial horizon. These are not random, isolated incidents. They are merely different heads of the same beast.
